can you post/send a better pic of the hub and/or both sides? It looks like the disc side was laced incorrectly for disc loads - but if it was built right, I might be interested...

I am eager to try the new hydrapak hose that is molded as one with the insulation (as opposed to a neoprene cover of a camelbak).

http://hydrapak.com/shop/accessories/hydrafusion-tube-kit-119

Nice thing is that both brands now use the same plug interface so you can run a HP tube into a CB bladder and vice versa...

looks promising...

I have had good luck with mine.

That said, they offer free lifetime warranty/parts. For my bikepacking shoes, I went to their website and ordered a set of warranty replacements (FOC) prior to needing them and carry them as spares just in case. They weight nothing and just go in my tool kit with the other spares in a small ziplock...

I've had good luck when using the camelbak race vest instead of a pack. It is meant for summertime road/tri riding. It puts the bladder right on your back and your body heat keeps things warm, the hose sits inside your clothes as well. The only real drawbacks I see is it is 70oz, not 100. It is under all your clothes so a PITA to add/remove/refill. If you are adventure riding and filtering water, then you can just pump/filter direct into the bladder as I have done in the past. For day riding, it is great.  Oh and your clothes need to be big enough to accommodate the bump...

7  Forums / Classifieds / Re: Salsa El Mariachi Ti Frame Medium on: November 10, 2016, 09:46:12 AM
Absolutely.

First, you can find geometry here: http://salsacycles.com/bikes/archive/2015_el_mariachi_ti

I am 6' tall with a 32" inseam. I typically ride mediums and large bikes, depending on the application. My fatbike is a large to maximize framebag size for bulky winter garments. My summer bikes tend to be mediums as I prefer a smaller, more playful frame on dirt. Also, I typically get medium frames as my framebag fits almost all of my bikes since the triangles are similar.

Salsa recommends the Medium for someone 5'8" to 6' tall.

The Medium Mariachi has 42mm more standover than the Medium AWOL. And reach 24mm longer (designed around shorter mtb stems) and stack is 17mm shorter. Depending on what bars you wanted to run, you should be able to make it work with the right stem/stack.

Happy to continue discussing this via PM. And willing to ship to Canada.

Thanks,

G

Asking $1,600

In Salt Lake City, UT (84105)

I bought this to run gears and tow around a bob for my drone.

I rode the frame maybe 10 times.

Salsa no longer makes ti frames. This has the updated geometry with shorter chainstays, 44mm headtube, threaded bb, and swinger dropouts for gears or singlespeed use. You can also get TA and Rolhoff dropouts if you prefer.

Frame is practically perfect, with just a touch of cable wear at the head tube (will be covered up when you run cables again) and a small tire rub on inside of non-drive chainstay from when I am out of true wheel rubbed, but it will never rust and with a wheel in the frame you cannot see it.

Matching blue seat collar and alloy water bottle bolts included.

rides or ride?

perhaps it is like the edge that you have to reset the ride to save it down into a file? if singular, then perhaps this is the issue... otherwise???

what do you mean by serviced? You mean the freehub body removed and/or replaced/swapped? Any true service is going to require tools.

My go to hubs (in order of general preference, but sometime different for various reasons):

king
dt
hope

honorable mentions for campy and shimano for having high quality loose ball hubs.

sigma used to make a handlebar mounted light for computers that ran off coin cells. you might be able to locate one or make your own:

12  Forums / Ultra Racing / Re: Rohloff hub for TD2016 on: April 14, 2016, 09:35:23 AM
since you have the ti, you have the rocker dropouts, so you can order new plates that are rohloff specific and use the OEM (not OEM2) plate which makes wheel changes super easy.

knowing also you have sram shifters, probably the cheapest shifter is going to be the gebla gearbox and modifying the stock sram shifters you already have on the woodchippers. (unless they are apex, because I do not think that gebla works with apex).

the comotion shifter works really well if your fargo is stock and has 31.8, otherwise if you have 25.4/26mm bars, the gilles berthoud works well for twist shifters.

if you or your shop orders from cyclemonkey, I believe they can sell you what you need and nothing extra so you aren't paying for two gear boxes, plates, etc.

I would get it sooner than later as they definately break in and wouldn't want to start on a brand fresh hub.

And last but not least, make sure you use an experienced wheelbuilder who will read the friggin instructions. I once rebuilt a wheel that came from a reputable shop that laced it incorrectly and voided the rohloff warranty because of that.  A real PITA for all involved.

a 2013 spearfish large frame and matching revelate/salsa frame bag. I will include the PF30 bb for it as well.  I have a tapered fox fork terralogic if you need that to finish the bike.

I used the bike for about 2-3 months. the rear shock is unused as I had a fox in it (which has been sold separately).

thx...

I have a set I would be willing to sell - bars and brake levers for mtb pull brakes.

Only used on my cargo bike, so no real off road use.

They are salsas and 25.4.  If you need a 25.4 stem to match, I have the thomson I was using as well...

Having riden 285 (uphill) the past two years, it honestly didn't bother me that much.  But then again, I have a long history as a road rider... and I will probably be ITT'ing westbound this year.

19  Forums / Ultra Racing / Re: Shimano Dynamo Hub for TD13, now what? on: December 20, 2012, 11:49:37 AM
I am a big dyno fan.

For off road, I would use the e3 triple light (800 claimed lumens):

http://supernova-lights.com/en/products/e3_triple.html

or the newer exposure (also claiming 800 lumens):

http://www.exposurelights.com/product/000098/revo-dynamo-mk1-(new)/

<edit> both have a capacitor that manages energy and runs for up to 10 minutes while walking </edit>

and I prefer the Schmidt dynos over the shimanos, but the shimano's do also have a solid reputation.  Also of note is that schmidt just this year started making a 15mm TA version (that I would recommend)...

Also, for usb power, I prefer the tout terrain "plug":

http://www.en.tout-terrain.de/accessories/electric-power-supply/

also sold under the supernova brand.  The wiring is nice and tucked into the steerer tube and the plug is the top cap...works on iphones/garmins etc.

hope that helps...
