Researching a route using Cabin Loop with some Rim Trails. Found this that might help anyone: http://www.gpsjoe.net/resources/Rim%20Trails.pdf

I think I will be doing some thing on the Mogollon next weekend, similar to/if not the same as AZ Tripper.

Good stuff...getting out is really the key. The pepsi always helps too Smiley Look forward to seeing more of your AZ adventures.

I lived in Mexico for a number of years...let me start you off on the right track: http://www.bicimapas.com.mx/rutas.htm

I used to use that site to find some adventures.

Might be time for a switch in scenery, make an official S to N version, and then rotate between the two every year.

pgadola:
As a caveat to what Chad said.  I use a Delorme PN60W for my gps.  The gpx file only provides the line for you to follow on your gps.  Without the maps, you won't have any idea of your surroundings.  You won't see any roads, towns, just the line for you to follow.

My recommendation is to load the maps for the route.

I think I am going to start a Rent-a-GPS company with the track/map loaded and delivered to your day for $100 for three weeks.

Amen AZTripper. Great guys.

I have my own Spot, how do you 'register' it for the TD?

I just bought the eTrex 30...I know that Topofusion will have the gpx file of choice, but do I need to purchase additional maps from Garmin?  Also, will I need the SD card?

No card or maps needed on the eTrex 30. Just Topofusion GPX file.

Finally got around to posting this up. Aaron B on the South Rim.

Jeff, I was thinking of just starting in Williams so your on the bike sooner, then finish to the car with the Williams decent. I too have always wanted to do bill williams and sycamore rim. Also walnut cyn in the AZT sounds cool.

That descent is quite the finish, worthy of putting the old nail in the coffin, one of my favorite sections on the route. I bet you could work out something with the Forest Service Ranger Station right there at the end.

"Coyote Springs....we did not purify it."

No tablets?! BTW, was the cover off too?

I will try the Rolando’s Mexican Restaurant suggestion too next time, if I am not in a hurry.

What is the water situation from the Verde to Williams.  When we rode it was hot. We ran out of water before Williams. Haven't scouted for water and don't have the maps on this computer.

Very little water this time of year, nothing guaranteed.

Well gotta give them guys some credit, they sure gave it hell.  Pretty much flew up Mingus.

But yea, no donuts Wink

Amazing how closely they are all matched.  I thought for sure one of them would fare a bit better than the rest and make it to the end.

Aaron's record lives on!

Bummer. It was a good run, although I was hoping for some early morning action tomorrow. 113 miles in 14 hours. Wonder if that half can be done in 14 hours.

To be continued.....

Or wait, maybe someone will sneak out late tonight and go ride Bill Williams and continue on while their adversaries sleep....Perhaps this is the Scott's plan?! OMG!!! Let's stay up and see if we see any blue dot movement.
