Looking to get into an ultra-distance race this summer. Not running a dynamo or anything but I am hoping to find a used ( but still confidently reliable) high-powered headlight. Please if you yourself do not have one but can help share some information that could make tracking down something like this easier that too would be great.

Does anyone have any insight on why the inquire hasn't opened for the TABR 2022 yet? It was listed to open mid-October but it is now December with no sort of update from the race organizer.

Anyone ever race the TABR or planning to this summer? Looking to exchange ideas with or collaborate with. If you're in the vicinity maybe ride share to or from the start/finish?

Who can shed some light on their own personal experiences with this race or with ultra distance races that a first timer may not know about. What are some in's and out's of ultra distance racing?

I am new to ultra racing/bike packing and I figured the best start would be the TABR. I am a teacher and a single parent, what that means is my budget is tight. Gently used and reasonably priced or whatever. I may be putting the cart before the horse as the saying goes because I haven't committed to purchasing a bike yet. Which is another area that is overwhelming for a rookie.
