I understand the Great Divide, but how come so many other routes which donít follow something already called Ďdivideí have it in their name? Just playing off the GDMBR name I guess?
2  Forums / Question and Answer / Re: Are 650B really more comfortable than 700C? on: September 14, 2019, 02:02:34 AM
I ride a steel 650x47 bike everyday for commuting and work (bike courier). Previously my daily driver had 700x40. I have joint problems, and am beat up. The 650ís are much more comfortable for me. I mostly ride pavement but have probably 6mi of dirt, sand, rocky crap on my commute each day, of a total of 30-60mi per day. Huge difference between 650 and 700 for me. Very much appreciate the 650.

If you hurt like I do, go for it. Tire of choice for me is the specialized sawtooth 650x47, set up tubeless. I ride in Los Angeles county. Dirt roads can be crappy here. Have a good one.

Usually I put my shoes under my pad, under my head, toes pointed Ďdownhillí. Itís like a little ramp. Phone can go in one shoe, which is handy for an alarm clock. My bivy setup typically requires that I wear my layers when I sleep so I canít do the clothes-in-a-stuff-sack method.

If Iím feeling luxurious and have panniers, I have a Nemo Fillo Luxury pillow, which is an outstanding bit of kit, but too big for bikepacking bags.

7  Forums / Question and Answer / Full Length Top Tube Bag? on: October 09, 2018, 01:08:55 PM
Hey guys, I saw one at a bike shop in Portland OR a while back but donít remember who makes it. Iíve seen others online before, but canít find em while searching. Itís like a half frame bag or whatever but with a zipper/s on the top, making it into a real long top tube bag that covers the full length of the tube.

Iíve adopted a road bike with a compact frame geometry and need to carry more stuff. This would be ideal for my long rides where I sleep in ditches and eat gas station food for a week.

Hola guys, Iím Taco. Iím from LA and the San Gabriel Mtns are my home or whatever. I ride bikes a lot, and am on a tour in Oregon right now riding bikes far less than I anticipated. Too busy climbing weird volcanic formations and watching YouTube videos.

I ride in the mountains a lot, but donít have a mountain bike yet. Got an old 90ís steel Mongoose Rockadile 26Ē frame Iím gonna put together. Itís a simple cheap bike that I figure Iíll learn a lot from before I go buy something like a Surly ECR or whatever.

Iím on a Disc Trucker right now. Gonna build something light and fast off a Giant Revolt frame I used to commute on when I get back to LA soon.

Cool site, guys. Thanks.
