Great job Max. You've got the hardest one of the three done; now just TD and CTR to go!

Gonna be sweet to watch the rest of the 750 riders bring it on home.

Nope. The CTR with the first two races on the legs is a beast like no other.

Thanx I appreciate it. Though I finally found one.

I've been searching high and low for this rim. Its discontinued and proving elusive.  New olds stock, good condition used or even built as wheel I dont care. It just needs to be a 36 hole OCR. XC or DH is no matter.   Thanx.

Thanx guys. Eszter, thats a shared honor. BearDave, Ive been called lots of things by lots of people but for you to call me yer hero, that means alot. A couple of divides over... thanx man. So yea. I'm back at it full time just after New Years. With hopes of dragging myself and a bike through some of the roughest terrain I can find in a circumnavigation of the globe. BikePlaneting! Good luck with that After Raam.

Hello Vermonters. Here in a few months (Januaryish). I'll be doing a fatbike run from Maine to Florida. Obviously trying to avoid pavement/ roads whenever possible. You might say- Why not wait for a more travel friendly season? Cuz this is just part of larger global ride called BikePlaneting. A multiple year round off road ride. I'd rather make due than sit out the winter months. That said, I'd love to get my gloved mitts on some information   for this mentioned route through your beautiful state?  Is there a GPX file available?    Thanx,  Kurt S.

We don't do these things for fame, status or popularity. Though every now and again, sure, its cool to share our accomplishments and hope they inspire others. After lot of fun and a lot of hard work. To sleep at night with a head full of memories and a smile of satisfaction. To be proud of ourselves for pushing through, birthing our goal and in the end-shaking our heads and laughing at why we do these things to ourselves. Cuz we love it. My shoulder is still sore from patting myself on the back. My gear is still muddy and I'm planning the next ride. This "We" is my bike and I. Occasionally we also ride with some cool humans.

Feels like from the effort I put in it should be less but none the less, That time looks legit. It was a beautiful ride and fantastic expierience. The previous AZTR750 and TD on the legs made it a whole different kinda pig rodeo. Though just like every finished ride. I wish I was back out there!

A truly Fan-effin-tastic ride. Epic is to small a word to describe it (but will have to do until my vocabulary on words meaning;"Oh hell Yea" gets bigger). Cheers to absolutely everyone who rode any part of it, let alone those who took on and finished the whole chimichanga. It was nice to meet those of you I did and thanx to Scott for stringing up the ball on this disco party.
We create our own memories and I hope everyone can look back at this 2012 AZT rodeo with a chapped, carpeted and weather worn smile. I know I will.

Hey yo, any of you 750ers... by some goofy last minute chance have any hitch-hike room for my rig and I? Tucson to the border?  I would be forever and stupidly thankful!

Just curious.  Why would you need extra brake pads?
Just curious.  Why would you need extra brake pads?

I thru-biked the AZT last Sept. Mud caked up and fell off my tire onto the rotors. The rotors pulled the mud through the caliper scouring the braking compound clean off the backing. I rode the last bit from the Big Ditch to the Utah border with no brakes. The trickle down effect was that I torched my cycling shoes also, "hot footing it". I'll be bringing extra pads for the AZTR (and new shoes)

Jeff, Is there any room left in that shuttle? I'll be flying into Tucson and can ride to any prearranged meeting/ pick up spot. Thanx Kurtis

Yea, I think I'll give the 3-crown a shot. I was planning the AZTR300, TD and CTR already. Whats 450 more miles?
16  Forums / Bikepacking / Re: Any single speed bikepackers out there? on: June 22, 2010, 03:48:16 PM
I just did the AZT on a single speed. Rode from Durango, Co down the Continental divide to silver city. Then cut over to the AZT and rode to Utah and  back to Durango. A fantastic trip and I highly recomend it!
