Ahh ok so it was a bobcat not a big cat. That's a little more comforting haha. Keith doesn't do much on the internet so when he gets back to work Monday I'll report back to you guys. Evan, he was super bummed about not finishing the 300 last year. We had a manager that was.... not easy to coordinate things with shall we say. We've got a new guy now and he's actually into this and been watching the tracker so it's been pretty fun and he's quite accommodating with schedules/time off.
I haven't talked to Keith recently but there's a chance hes doing the full route just to prove he can do it, haha. Orrrr.. its because we didn't load the snow bypass on his gps before he left and he honestly may not have looked at his phone to check. I'll find out when I talk to his girlfriend later. Also, any of you other 750'ers run into the hiker duo where the smaller of the two actually got snagged by a mountain lion? Keith ran into them but I didn't get specifics of where or when.
Hmm yeah I guess I figured that meant in non designated cache spots, such as random locations on the trail or other spots only yourself might only know of. My bad. The box at tiger mine is now full unless you want to start stacking, however the one by the underpass was nearly empty so maybe he'd like to drop them there too? I know majority of people ride into oracle anyway but some like to hammer on straight through.
Just got back from dropping 12 gallons at tiger mine cache and cleaning out empties/trash. Four are marked for people ( and dated so if you're there after the dates have at it) and 8 are marked aztr/public. I know its not much but it's easiest one I can get to in my car and it's better than nothing. Removed empties from the one near the underpass as well.
Landsharkbrian, great read by the way. I was one of the guys near the gargantuan van haha. I can assure you I wasn't passed out, more frozen solid. That was a coooold night.
Seeing as how riders are limited, any of the more leisure riders ( like myself ) thought about starting the day before and keeping race day for the "racers"? Like a group ITT.. if that's a thing. Just an idea I've been kicking around my head.
