Is there a way to see Trackleader distances in kilometers?

Quite a turn of events with the weather this year.  I've been watching using the 'windy' api mentioned earlier.  It just went live on the main TD tracker.  Reload the sucker and look for the little flag button to toggle it on/off.

Here's a current shot of the rain/thunder layer, which shows ... snow.

You can drag the bottom slider to go into the future (forecast).

Can't believe how many people are still holed up at Brush Mtn (!).

Nice addition!

Is Dave Wicks going to yo-yo this thing? His AZT 750 yo-yo was insane!

My other half is Canadian singlespeeder Dean Anderson. Photos of the 750 grand depart courtesy of his sister, Joyce.

Hello! Dean Anderson's wife here. I've been asked why he's racing on a singlespeed. In addition to the lure of a personal challenge, his answer is, “It’s simpler.” Without other gears, there is less to think about because you have no choice but to go. There are fewer parts to maintain so there is less to break down. He likes the feel of the singlespeed because he feels more in tune with the ground he’s riding over. Instead of trying to match his gears to the slope, he tries to match his riding style to the ground. He likes getting aerodynamic to gain speed when approaching a climb. He knows that geared bikes are faster and that faster is good but he finds the challenge of a singlespeed more fun. He said that if he did the Tour Divide on a geared bike, he’d want to do it again on a singlespeed so he might as well get it over with now. I wondered if the opposite might be true now that he’s racing it but he said if he did it again, he would ride a singlespeed.

Dean Anderson thinks a glove he found on the trail might belong to Luke Bodewes, if Luke was wondering where it went.

Dean called from Lima and said he's had an interesting last couple of days. Last night, he and Tom Rowntree found an awning to camp under in Bannack. There was a downpour with sheets of rain and gale force winds. Getting out of Bannack this morning, it was pure mud. They used sticks to clean off their mud-seized tires and had headwinds almost the entire way. In the canyon, the wind was so strong it almost blew him over. When they reached a pass and thought they were home free, there was the wind. He almost broke a pedal at the pass but caught in time. They walked a lot and shouted at a lot of cows blocking the road. There was a section where he could ride that nobody else could. Jose Bermudez asked him, “How are you able to ride though this?” Could be the singlespeed.

Tom roundtree is a single speeder. Wouldn't count him out.

Dean and Tom have been leap frogging. Apparently, Tom switched to gears before the race.

Josh, I'm so sorry to hear that you're out. Glad you're safe and I wish you a speedy recovery. I really hope the driver gets caught.

It's kind of funny how Guy Martin is the Where's Waldo of the Tour Divide. I hope he's having a blast.

Tell your kids to be very proud.  Their Dad is doing great.  Excellent spirits and just keeps going like a energizer bunny biker.

They cheered when they saw his picture. Keep up the great work! Smiley

Angler, thank you so much for the picture of Dean! Our kids will be so happy to see it in the morning.

Here are a couple of photos I took at the YWCA in Banff: my husband, Dean Anderson, pointing at his trusty singlespeed and a Grand Depart group photo with Crazy Larry.

It would be nice to see a singlespeed category like last year's too. Go Dean!
