Greg Gleason is definitely killing it, looking for a podium spot for sure. Plus, he is now first in the "over 50" category, as Dom Irving seems to be fading after a brilliant NoBo start.
The Bailey-Greg race looks neck and neck! I'm still rooting for the singlespeeder

Hello folks, just spreading the word about the third annual Canada Bikepack Summit, which happens September 14-16 in beautiful Canmore, Alberta. We're excited to be hosting another amazing weekend of all-things-bikepacking in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and hope that you might be able to share this event with your customers, friends and community. The Summit weekend features daily group rides around our picturesque mountain headquarters, plenty of unique seminars & talks, an optional pre-Summit overnighter in Kananaskis, great food, great people, swag from our partners…and beer! This year we are stoked to welcome our special guest presenter, ultra distance cyclist Lael Wilcox. Tickets ($250) are now available, and we do sell out! Space is limited to 50 riders. Full details & registration are at our Summit webpage www.bikepack.ca/summitFacebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/282583612245177/Cheers, Tim Summit volunteer crew

hi chris shown next to a fairly standard pair of scissors. 21.5 cm length, 6.8 cm at widest (trigger area) top and 5.3 cm at the base. 230 ml size. They fit nicely in most "feedbag"-style handlebar accessory bags, however quick accessibility should be a priority so some folks might prefer to have it carried on their person somewhere (which also means its with you when the call of nature takes you off the trail into the bush, perhaps, or at night when you might want it close at hand. i pieced together a 29+ wheelset for my 2015 Mukluk 3 and have been happy with it for bikepacking. The rims were from Chain Reaction - Easton Arc 35 - and set up tubeless with 29 x 2.6 Nobby Nics - IMO a good choice for a bit less weight and a bit more fast-rolling than a 3" tire. Front hub is a Hope Fatsno (135mm spacing) and Salsa Mukluk 3 rear hub (170mm). My local shop laced em up.

If it's rerouted as shown in the ACA addenda, it shouldn't be too bad. It's a well-built trail that spits out to the same place on the dirt road highway. It's a little shorter, and it will take a little more time. I'll take a little extra singletrack. If we stay on the HRT all the way to Bolton, then I think we're looking at a much longer haul. Unfortunately, everything is rumor until we get very close to the GD.
here's some info on the High Rockies trail for those interested http://kananaskistrails.com/high-rockies-trail/The TD route has already been following "Goat Creek to Spray Lake" the past few years....if this year's route follows the ACA addendum, read up on the middle 3 sections, with the Rummel Lk trail being the exit point from High Rockies back to the Smith-Dorrien Trail aka highway 742 (at the same point where the "old" route past Mt Shark spit you out). High Rockies is a well-built wide singletrack and is great fun to ride, but lots of up and down and slower going on a loaded bike. Some of the viewpoints over Spray Lake as it crosses some open avie paths are stunning.

just over two weeks ago I noticed all sorts of strangely-loaded bikes rolling past the store I work at in Banff...over the following days met some of the TD riders in my store, at the coffee shop, out on the Banff/Canmore bike path and learned all about the race. so awesome! can't believe these men and women and how far they've pedalled over the past few weeks. very cool to watch the last few miles playing out...give 'er.
