Here's mine on a SF100 (the red arrow is pointing to it) - of course this may not work on a HT.  It looks close to the rear wheel but there is actually heaps of clearance even at full compression, visibility from behind is clear, and access is easy.

Gutted about Seb's luck   But it sounds like it could certainly have been worse  
Now he'll just have to go full-time cheering for Bethany - woohoo!
p.s. The TdF is going to be such an anticlimax in a couple of weeks...
