I think it's the same; I'm not aware of any upgrades since I bought it in spring 2015.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it!

Only thing missing are the stakes which I scavenged for another shelter and have subsequently misplaced.

You will get:

The bivy
2 inflator gadgets
compression sack
stake sack

Hey kids --

The active yellow dot known as KJ here - started a southbound ITT the 22nd, but I self-relegated and deviated from the route.  Sent e-mail to ML so they can change my dot color when able.  Just don't want to create any controversy as I continue southbound.  Cheers!

Who's to say the person who finished in 30 days didn't go as fast as they could? Cheating/breaking rules to reach that finish time is another story.

I think you've got it!

Follow the route, self-supported, as fast as you can.  Keep it simple.

P.S.  I like the way Josh Kato and Marshall Bird think also; see posts 242 and 243.

GDMBR looking north from over Del Norte.  Can you see Mike Hall?

Like, when should I see my name on trackleaders?

I imagine Scott and Matthew are super busy as you suggested.  I did an ITT last July, did all the things you mentioned, yet I did not appear on Track Leaders until about an hour prior to starting.

Best of luck!

10  Forums / Classifieds / Re: Top tube double pockets bag on: May 29, 2016, 08:38:11 AM
I purchased the black top tube double pocket bag pictured above.  I took the bag(s) for their first ride yesterday.  I really like this bag.

It fits nicely on each side of my top tube.  If I wanted to run my normal top tube bag (Revelate Gas Tank), I can still do so.  The bags look small, but they are not -- there's a lot of room in each side.  As a reference, my iPhone 6+ fits easily into one side with plenty of room for additional items.

The bags do not interfere with my knees while seated; my only complaint is the bags lightly rub against my knees when standing.  It depends on how your legs are positioned and would probably not be a problem for most.  When my bike is fully loaded, I rarely stand anyway, so it is not a problem for me.

The bags appear to be well-constructed of quality material, and I think they will be very durable.

Thanks, Stas!  Well done.

More so than my TOPO 100K basemap?

I notice my TOPO 100K basemap stops at the US/Canadian border.  Scott's basemap fills in the Canadian portion of the route.

Isn't the V2 GPX enough?

The .gpx file will give you the "track" to follow, and that's all you need.

The basemap will give you a layer of other useful information, but in my opinion, it's not essential.

I've been wrong before ... I'm sure someone smarter than me can give you a more detailed answer.

Here's some route recon for you --- GDMBR just north of Steamboat from 37,000 feet --- lots of snow!

I know Billy Rice went northbound last year early enough to make it to Banff for the Grand Depart.  He certainly started later than March, but had to bail on the route in northern NM/southern CO due to snow.  (If my memory is accurate.)  You may be able to read some about it in last year's TD discussion thread(s) or by checking out Billy's Facebook.

It's been used a handful of times, but it's in excellent condition.  I had to patch it once on the seam the first time I used it, but it's held ever since.  It is the regular size.

It's yours for $80 which includes shipping to the lower 48.  Payment via PayPal please.

Thanks for looking.
