Looks good! Have you gotten to test it out yet? Anything you especially liked or would do differently next time?

Well the good news is it also fits onto my other bike Smiley

The bad news is its very puffy without a center partition like my old bag had. Luckily I included some webbing on the inside to help support the webbing outside, meaning I can accessorise later or for now put a couple of clips inside to make the bag more skinny in the middle where my knee's and calfs pass.

So, 10 hours of work so far and about and hour of fine tuning to go. Hopefully one day it will all go a little smoother and faster Smiley This is my second frame bag, this time I wanted something simpler and stronger because my sewing is far from 100% and I'm far from careful when using my gear.

And here's another Dutch bike Smiley

Next week I'm heading off for a couple of weeks on the Transandalusia with a set up like this( now with lighter dry bags). Built the bike up over Christmas and spent a lot of time sewing the last couple of weeks.

This will be a kind of baptism by fire for the bike and my first bikepacking trip  headbang

Yeh I agree, but the with a center zip I lost stiffness and the whole bag sagged more, this was Mk II Smiley. Hopefully as my sewing skills improve a possible Mk III will actually work Smiley

@Jaybo The gap at the top was a great brainwave, its proving very useful already Smiley

Sadly my imagination and ambitions are greater than my sewing skills. Hopefully the experience gained in the last week will mean that the Mk II will be better Smiley

Hi folks,

I've cycled a little here and there, usually on longer trips so usually travel quite heavy. I've seen and done most of the things I want to " touring" so now its time for some shorter trips closer to home that are more challenging.

Time to see what this mountain biking and bike packing non-sense is about.

Great to see that this is an active forum and lots of great tips and info knocking around.  Thanks for your time and interest.

I won't barge in with a blog plug, There's plenty of chance for that after my first " bike packing"  trip next month   glasses2

Tail winds and blue skies
