Hi All
I have been using a Rohloff gear hub for over 12 years how.
The pain for me is the gear range only 524%.
But the good part is when it's raining and the mud is deep  thumbsup then a Rohloff rules.
I have a Rohloff on my Jones Plus but building up a go fast Bikepacking Jones Diamond with full Shimano XT 3x11

It's always hard to which to use... I started wishing I had a Rohloff hub in Africa on my 1st day off from cycling!
All the time it takes to clean derailleurs.

All the Best with TD 2016

With the more upright position did you change your saddle?  Wider?

Hi No all the same and the fit is working out good so far

Hi
So Jeff has over the last week updated this website with F.A.Q
so here is the low down
Q:  Can I put Jones H-Bars on any bike?
A:  You bet!  While the H-Bars are an integral part of the design of all of the models of Jones bikes, they can work wonders for almost any bike on the planet!  Especially if you keep in mind our fit ideal (you want your weight centered on your feet, so the bars need to be high enough and far enough back that you don’t need to lean forward to reach them, and the saddle needs to be far enough back that it balances your weight over your feet), you’ll be able to transform an otherwise uncomfortable bike into something fun and enjoyable to ride.  The biggest obstacle we find when helping riders set up their bikes with H-Bars, is a combination of low stem height and long top tube.  Because of this, we commonly end up recommending stems that are 40 or 50mm shorter than what they have been using.  This seems extreme, but most people have their saddles and bars too far forward, so first off we want to move them back to center them on the bike.  After that, we need to consider the range of positions on the H-Bar, and adjust the stem length to make it easy to get to all of them.  Sometimes it’s not possible, but in pretty much every case, the result is a handlebar setup that’s so much more comfortable than what the riders were used to that it changes the way they think about riding bikes.  Just make sure to bring the H-Bars back toward you enough!  A good litmus test with the 710mm version, is that when you have your hands in the position closest to the ends of the bar, you want to be sitting fully upright, with no weight on your hands.  The rest of the positions should be readily accessible if that’s the case.

Have fun adjusting you setup

I was running a 90mm changed to a 60mm changed to a -10 degree 70mm and tonight changed to a 40mm!

Shimano Zee on the Krampus + Rohloff
Because I didn't want to buy a new crank.

Ha ha
Starting to think the same thing too
I have a pair of XT 3x cranks only rode for 500km's and have a singlespeed DX chainring also just setting here.
Having the support of Puresports NZ (the Rohloff NZ wholesaler) it will have to be a Rohloff after all.
Thanks Guy's

Looks I was asking about 2x cranks that work with 29+!
Not at any point have I said I'm going 2x Rohloff! ! (Just dum)
As I said it's 2x cranks and derailleurs or a Rohloff hub.
I was looked after for years by Rohloff New Zealand.
Have did a lot of people test ride my bike (bike's) and pay a Rohloff hub.
I asked because I was thinking that some of you may have see new cranks coming out?
Like I know about the new Fox 32 forks?
Which cranks are you fitting to Surly ECR? Need the same cranks

If you go rohloff you will void the warranty of you go smaller than certain ratios.

What does Jones say?

A?
Void warranty?? because I may ride a 29+ with a Rohloff??

Jeff Jones like Derailleurs not Hub gears!
But I have been riding will Rohloff Speedhub for over 10 years and load's of hard mountain biking....

If your talking about Jeff and which crank's well he said so new cranks may be coming

Hi Guy's and Lady's
I have just ordered a Jones Plus (ie:29+)
BB is 73mm wide
Crank size i'm after are 170mm
Rear hub is 135mm wide
Bike colour is Blue
I plan to going 2x (may end up running a Rohloff Gearhub)

As I said I know off the Surly OD crank's
Trying to find out about the new Boost148 cranks that are coming?? https://youtu.be/xauVb0sAgM4
I know that I can use the 2 outer ring's on a XT 3x crank's (but need lower gearing then a 32!)

So are there any more 29+ crank's that you know off???

Thanks Pete  icon_scratch

Hi thanks but it says about cranks but no details about which crankset!
I have a new Shimano XT 3 x crank, which is not going to work,  know of the Surly OD crankset (out of stock in NZ) and would like to know of more options?
