The Grand Depart of the Olympic 420 Adventure is just 8 weeks away!

This year expect some new singletrack on the first day, which will bring the BUCK WILD section up to around 100 miles between Port Angeles and Quilcene.

The roads south of Hamma Hamma are still closed due to last season's Maple Fire.  Riders will miss the singletrack around Elk Lake and the gravel climb to Washington Pass.  Once again, the detour down to 101 puts the Eldon Store and Hama Hama Oyster Saloon directly on route.

There are a couple of other relocations on deck, the GPX will be up to date by mid-August.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS, if they don't have time to ride to the whole 420 Adventure, come get BUCK WILD and ride from Port Angeles to Quilcene with the Grand Depart.  It's around 100 miles, includes incredible riding on the Dungeness River and Gold Creek, up and over the summit of Mt. Zion, down Deadfall and then up and over to the Lower Big Quil.  A shuttle may be available from Quilcene to Port Angeles on Tuesday 9/3.  Email for details.

In four years of racing, only five riders have completed the route.  Come challenge the course, challenge yourself!  Remember, it's Totally Doableā„¢

This is the great!  Thanks much for the input, I can rest a little easier now.

Now this is what I've got taped to the top tube:
Oracle - Casa Rivera's Taco Express - Stay on Highway - Carne Asada Enchillada
Superior - Off Route - Los Hermano's
Payson - Must Stop - Alfonso's
Flagstaff - Agave and/or Tacos Los Altos Off Route N US180

That and a garmin and a camelback should be just about all a guy needs?

Less than 10 weeks out, and a foot of fresh snow just dropped on the home trails here on the Olympic peninsula.

As a total newcomer to bikepacking in Arizona, I have one question that is burning in my mind: Where am I going to get my burritos on the 750?

I'm looking for recommendations for all the best resupply options, burritos are a staple, also going to need some cheeseburgers, etc.

Just a note to remind folks that the grand depart of the Olympic 420 Adventure will be from Port Angeles on September 7th.

This is a wild, remote, and extremely rewarding route through ancient temperate rainforest around the Olympic Peninsula.

10 folks are signed up for this year, maybe we'll have more than our two finishers from last year?

Check out the website and email John Tornow for the GPX file.  2017 update to be available in the next few weeks, some minor changes to last year's route.

Hope to see some of you out there!!
