I was wondering if the possitioning of weight will make a big difference on the road? when i gonna downhill the trails from the mountain i want o put all the weight on my back to have more control over the bike.

Hi guys n girls! Long time no see

I'm planning in august to make an endurance bikepacking/hiking trip. To from the coast of Mediterranean sea from Barcelona to the highest summit in Pyrenees Aneto (3404m). I want to make a distance from Barcelona to Aneto basecamp in one attempt. It is aprox 300km on the road. Recover one day and the climb the Pic de Aneto. It think i'll have as little gear to fit it rather on front or on the back of the bike. And the question is: what would be the best place, to fight the gravity and to have comfortable ride? I'll have at least 5 many kilometer climbs on the way and descents also

Bikepacking Sierra Nevada would be awesome!!! I was there last spring on touring on road bike with my g-friend. We went mainly down the bigger roads, but at one point we got lost in the woods/mountains with no pavement. We had to push our bikes coz gradient was toooo steep for loaded road bike. But it would be nice to go there one more time on MTB and explore trails. I know couple of places there with wild hot springs, some caves to stay for a night.

what is this chemical to warm up hands and feet? i was thinking maybe to make some kind of extract from chilly peppers. Coz they have substance that makes blood circulate better around body. Now I usually ingest them, makes me warm, but not my feet I wonder should i make alcohol or oil based extract. That would be cool DIY solution to my problem

Thanks guys for advice! Newer heard of down booties, but i can imagine what it is. I will consider wool socks! My gandma used to knit awesome socks. Also what's cool bout wool is that it works also when it's wet!

I have this problem, maybe someone has the same and can share some thoughts

I think it's physiological, but maybe there is some nice 'cure'. My feet are freezing almost all the time when i go on a overnight bike trip. Body feels fine, but not my feet. I feel some discomfort because of this. Maybe i should use some warmup rub before sleep? Thick wool socks?

What do you think?

My name is SX. Just registered here! I was reading this forum for a while, now i wanna to participate.

I'm Russian currently living in Barcelona, Spain. It's an awesome place to ride MTB and Road bikes. All year around. Coz here's no real winter. So I'm enjoying my stay here.

I live in a squat with my girlfriend, we travel a lot on bikes. Once in a while going bikepacking  - investigating sourrounding natural parks also Pyrenees are not too far from us. That's a lot of trails!

As we live in a squat, okupa as it's called here, we don't really have any work and/or money. We try to make everything DIY or recycle.

We have our blog dedicated ot travelling around Europe and recycling stuff - food, clothes, bike related stuff. It's in latvian/russian, but in the future we wanna work on ENG version. For now you can use google translate function buit in blog. Once in a while we upload som new adventures with pics and stories!
