I use a Gregory Tempo pack for running that I bought a few months ago. Am planning on using it for Bikepacking this year also. Bought it from MEC in Canada.
I just read that Yellowstone is being evacuated due to fear of the "Massive Volcano" eminent eruption? Any one else hear of this and will our portion of the there be effected?
A hammock with a bug screen is a must. Three of my kids have been using Hennessy hammocks for about 5 or 6 years now and they love them, and would not go back to a tent. The Hennessy hammocks come with a tarp, which could be a bit larger in size, but is functional.
Shouldn't be an issue. I once borrowed a friends car (in Alberta) and went on a two week holiday through the western States. Had zero issues crossing the border. I would suggest that however is driving have a letter from the owner of the vehicle giving permission for them to drive it.
I have a 2015 anthem 27.5 in a size medium. I had a custom bag done up by BBD in the eastern states (of Australia)...see the pic below. Worked well, just need to be aware of the usual frame rub issues and use some clear 3M if your frame is new. BBD also stock Oveja Negra bags, and their garage TT bag is amazing!
A buddy and I will be doing the Canadian section from Montana border to Banff during the first week of July. We could potentially cross paths if our schedules coincide.
Well I have contacted PR and ordered a frame bag. The owner (Scott) has been very responsive and easy to deal with. Only downside is that they are so busy at the moment that the backlog on orders is about three months. Good thing it is winter here now and I don't need the bag immediately. Should be all set for Bikepacking in the spring.
I am aware of the PR bags and their high quality. Unfortunately the price for their frame bags is also quite high. I am hoping that someone else on this forum with a similar bike frame to mine will have a more economical alternative. If not, PR is an option.
Has anyone bought one of the two sizes of Scout Bikepacking frame bags offered through Giant? They look to be a decent quality and price, unfortunately the sizing info on the Giant web site sucks and they don't respond well to inquiries.
First post here. I am just getting into bikepacking and am gearing up for a 2016 trip on the Canadian section of the GDMBR. I ride a 2015 Giant Anthem 27.5 (2) XL, and am having a difficult time determining what readily available frame bags would fit this bike. I am hoping to maximize use of the triangle, but of course, I do not want the bag to interfere with the operation of the rear shock. I am hoping that someone out there has the same bike and has found a frame bag that works well. I have already purchased a handlebar bag and a seat post bag, so the frame bag is the last piece of this puzzle. Any help would be appreciated.
