Hello everyone

I was checking to see if anybody has a resource for the TD GPX file*? I think i have read every thread about taking a GPS on the TD and i am sure it is for me since i tend to get lost easy. I am all set to line up in Bafff this year and i am trying to get everything in order before the grand depart.  BTW, as Scott can tell you, " I aint no genus" when it comes to computers or GPS. I bug him all the time for simple stuff. Thanks for you help!

* So a dummy can understand. sign13

Cheers- Jim

Thanks Dave.  Soon to be updated with 4-5 minor corrections and official route changes from ACA.

You guys are all over this. Thanks a million! The maps are very detailed, but it will be nice to have a bit of reassurance.

There probably are quite a few more small changes than 4-5 needed.  I'd suggest getting your hands on a copy of Topofusion, sitting down with the maps and adenda, and creating your own track.  It'll familiarize yourself with the route and terrain, you can be sure you included all the most recent changes, and if part of the track is incorrect and you end up off course, you only have yourself to blame.  I did this last year and was very glad I did.

Hey so I'm sitting down with topofusion and the TD track and looking over it. For anybody who has done this, what tileset/basemap did you load into the GPS so it shows the entire route in adequate detail? Or are you proceeding with a factory basemap? I'm trying to get over the 100 tile limitation in some reasonable way. I'm new to fusioning and GPS, so sorry if this seems simple. I'm using a Dakota 20.

Thx BangHead

I'd say the 100 tile limit is definitely too small to cover the divide in any kind of detail -- it's just too long.  You're better off sticking with the vector based Garmin mapsource (or free equivalent) base maps instead.

2010 updates to the GDMBR track, and a separate TD track now available:

A few pieces are hand drawn  / corrected so no guarantees.  This is the route to the best of our collective knowledge.

Scott

You are the man! Thank You. I was following the gps route on GE and following the map. trying to make notes where they were not the same. I was still in the middle of MT. I think i will ride it faster than i could translate on GE. THANKS! Only 17 days till Banff, 19 days to the start but who is counting?
