For those about to rock, and suffer, and hike, and swear, and watch our geared brethren ride away on the flats while we claw our way past them on the climbs...I salute you!  headbang

Let's get a roll call. What bike, what gearing, NoBo or SoBo?

I'll kick it off (well, duh, since I started the thread):

Name: Erik Mathy
Livin' in: Alameda, CA
Bike: 2010 Salsa Fargo (singlespeeded via a White Industries ENO rear hub of pure deliciousness)
Gearing: 32x19
Route: SoBo

(thanks to Errin V for the photo action!)

Next?  thumbsup

I guess out of however many 100+ riders, there are only 2 singlespeeders. Everyone else is smart enough to realize that gears are a good thing over 2700 miles. Cheesy

A Pug or a Mukluk are looking better every day!

Wook: When do you arrive in Bannf? We'll have to trade beers one night.

Dave: We're still gonna break bread when we cross paths on the course. I just hope it happens someplace without snow. Cheesy

Supposed to hit Banff on the 8th, maybe late. I actually Don't drink! But look forward to meeting as many of Y'all as there is time. Isn't there a BBQ the night before? Not sure there will be time for much more, the last day always goes by so fast.....

There are a bunch of singlespeed riders on the roll call, but not too many are talking at this point? Scared, nervous, bashful? (I am all the above, but who isn't?) Who Knows, but the suffering is coming soon......

I am waaay slow!  Actually I just don't hop on this thing enough.  That explains my under-preperation and over-excitedness!  Anyway, I am trying this thing SS again.  Here are my not as sexy stats as you guys, but I love my baby and she treats me well....

'10 Fisher Rig
32x18 (32x17 last year, but I would rather spin out than walk that much again!)
Easton Havoc Wheels
Lame aero bars
Other not cool but serviceable goodies.

Also NoBo, and look forward to seeing you all on the trails, both directions!
