Finally found some time to finish this up. This is how the race unfolded for me. Big thanks to Joe Polk for providing the call-in audio! Featuring all your favorite racers: Mark Caminiti, Jay Petervary, Mike Prochaska, Jill Hueckman, Michael Ackerman, Brad Mattingly, Elliot DuMont, Neil Beltchenko, Aaron Gulley, Kurt Refsnider, Sean Allan, Josh Van Jura, and more!

Make sure HD is turned on, or go directly to Vimeo to watch it larger by clicking the link below the video.

Love the way you do those videos man, gives such a good overall sense of the trail. I've watched your CTR video many times on bored nights while studying. The call ins definitely added something to this edit.

How many gopro batteries did you bring to shoot that much? I only get a little over an hour per battery so pretty amazing you were able to get that much video.

Stunning Aaron.... So glad you got to experience that.

Thanks everyone!

How many gopro batteries did you bring to shoot that much? I only get a little over an hour per battery so pretty amazing you were able to get that much video.

I figured I'd go thru about 1 battery per day, so I had about 10 spare batteries.

Mowgli looked unimpressed with your accomplishment....

I know! I got one sniff and he lost interest. Or, he was just trying to get away from my stench...

Thoroughly enjoyed this! Love all of Mark's crazy ramblings. That guys a character!

This will happen for me someday... For now, I'm still waiting for my Achilles to heel from my botched TD attempt this year. And it's taking much longer than I had hoped... Was thinking I could do this in March, but I don't think that's very likely at this point... Videos like this are now a hopeful, tortuous lifeline to the possibilities...

I loved your CTR video and have watched several times while daydreaming.  I hate to ask but would you be able to put this on youtube as well?  This is selfish but I would love to watch/listen to this on my TV (screen much bigger than PC screen and has stereo/surround sound) but my TV only has app for youtube.  If not, I won't judge you and will be content to watch on vimeo Smiley But seriously, you produce awesome vids! I hope you keep it up - very inspiring!

WOW. What a great job of capturing the feel of the race with the call ins. You have a real talent for putting these video's together that makes me feel I was there, especially the part of riding through the minefield of cactus  it gave me a chill just
thinking of crashing into one.   Thanks Aaron for taking the time and sharing it.

Awesome !  Nice job, great music and composition.  I especially love your going down into the Grand Canyon and seeing the expressions on the hikers as you're passing them with a bike on your back !  hell yeah !

I don't understand how this obviously professional production with a camera crew is possible during your race.  I get the clips when you're wearing/holding the camera.  What about the rest of the clips?  Was the camera crew also on bikes but riding ahead of you to setup?  Would you then wait while they regained some time ahead of you each shot?  That would drive me nuts and must have added a day or more to your race time.

Seriously, excellent work!   Thank you for the time during the race to capture the great scenes and the post race time to put it all together.  Very enjoyable.

Thanks, Tom

Nope, no camera crew, just me and a gopro. (Having a crew would violate the rules and spirit of these races). I set up the camera in spots, ride by it, and go back and grab it.
