I didn't see a thread so I figured I'd start one. The TNGA14 kicked off this morning! Right now, it's Barnabas Froystad and Jason Murrell duking it out in front. Twelve hours in and they're already heading up Hogpen Gap!

Here are some race start interviews with Asa “Monty” Marshall, Bill Bailey, Barnabas Froystad, Chris Joice, Drew McIntosh, Derek Tribble, Celso Rodrigues, Jeff “Honcho” Williams, Jason Murrell, Michael Kurelja, Tony Buchman, and Wayne Gowens!

Jason and Barnabas are moving very well, looks like Chad, Wayne and Lisa are not far behind.  Gotta love Trackleaders, sitting here at home drinking a cold one watching the race.  Lights are on folks.

Some big miles for day one considering the weather conditions.  Lisa looks to be on record pace.  Wonder where Barnabas is as his tracker hasn't updated?  Mulberry Gap yet?  Rock on TNGA warriors. headbang

Unfortunately, Lisa pulled out this morning. Strong run, though!

Jason Murrell is out due to some severe heat exhaustion and Mark Sackett is out with a hip flexor issue.

What are the estimates on Barnabas Froystad's finish time?  He's rolling in to Dalton 28+ hours after the start.  Record pace?

Yeah I was just talking to Derek about that. He'll need to do that last section in under 9hrs. It's easy to underestimate how tough that section can be. Lots of technical single track up there. The consensus is, No. Still a great run.

Did Chad pull out?  looks like Spot put him bailing out at Bear Cr taking short cut to MG.
I was hoping to see a 36 hr time.   Barnabas will be close but can he navigate the Pinhoti West in 6 hrs?

Looks like the weather (rain) may put a damper on a Barnubus record.  A wet Snake Gap Creek course, NO FUN.  Hopefully he's resting and refueling in Dalton and will finish safely.

Rain won't change much on the west side, but will make it less fun.  Chad did pull out with knee issues.

Chad is here at MG and he's out. Regarding the record, there's a lot more single track this year so it's a slower route. Barnabas will at the least be able to set one for this route.
