Care to elaborate for those of us not on FB (I know I know...)?

Glad to see Juliana moving again.  Hope she's doing well.

The top handful are putting in SO many miles.  It's very impressive to see the avg speeds they're pushing fully loaded and self supported.

Billy Rice was wondering why some racers were taking ACA alternate routes without penalty.  Nathan Jones stated in the call-in above that all ACA alternate routes are fair game.  It clearly states this in the rules on the Trans Am race web site.

Ahhh, the classic "know your race" scenario.  The good news is it's a long one Wink  Lots of time to make up a little ground (relatively).

I think Mike Dion is setting up these controversies to make his movie a little more exciting. Rumor has it Geraldo Rivera is part of the filming crew and that he will be confronting the racers who appear to be taking shortcuts!! Ha ha!

Just looks like she's taken two alternates.  Odd how nobody else took the first one?

I'm McCall, ID for the week and saw Mike Hall and Jason Lane go through New Meadows this morning on my way to a mtn bike trailhead. Mike was about one hour ahead of Jason. Mike has had 2 hrs sleep and Jason 1.5 hrs at roughly 750 miles. Jason has had nothing to eat. Only a fluid diet which obviously works so far. He is a seasoned RAAM guy but not used to riding loaded. Says he can really tell he is loaded. Mike in good spirits but mentioned that he respects his competition and must ride accordingly. He may go for a longer sleep sometime today. So I'm thinking...what 3hrs this time. haha. Don't have good internet where I am but will try to throw up a pic or two with some good wifi.

Mike Hall starting to open up a lead now. At last level spot tracks he was 40 miles of uphill riding towards lolo pass ahead, probably around 2.5 hours in real time after been within an hour of Jason for the past day.

I do wonder how long Mike and Jason will keep this sleep regime up. And Jason on a liquid diet, that can't be easy if you don't have a support crew dragging round your preferred powder mix.
