For besting the Benson FKT, Simoni will need to summit 14 more 14ers in approx. 10 days.

Hell, he just did 5 in one day!  icon_biggrin

For besting the Benson FKT, Simoni will need to summit 14 more 14ers in approx. 10 days.  Plus, get from TH to TH by bike.  Big, big balls.  Come on, Justin!

His smart route planning has left him with basically "easy" walkups now. Some of the groups he has left will go down very quickly.... Shavano / Tabeguache and then Democrat / Cameron / Lincoln / Bross and probably tossing Quandary in that mix somehow.... then Torreys & Grays will take him no time at all.

My semi-educated guess is that he is probably feeling ok on time.... guess we'll get more clarity over the next few days.

Feeling great on time! 10 left, 4 or 5 of which can be done in a day. I'm dragging this morning- bear ate all my food last night, so after the marathon of 3 14ers I came back to no food, and a ripped up frame bag. Hungry pedal back to town to resup and mend things. Getting out of here as soon as I finish my coffee.

Well, he's camped right down from Torreys this morning, so the last huge chunk could go down today. Be kinda interesting to see if he is spicing things up with some Kelso Ridge or sprints up the standard route. Then a relatively quick ride around to Guanella Pass for Bierdstadt & Evans.... could be later today, but the weather might get a little loud this afternoon. Not sure if that stuff phases him or not anymore.

The a little *minor* bike ride over to Estes Park to finish on Longs. Looks like he will get his new FKT by several days.

Stay healthy Justin! Keep crushing it! Almost there!

An amazing accomplishment in so many ways. But I keep thinking of how lucky he is to see so much of Colorado in one summer. I hope that he's taking lots of photos--and that he isn't too tired to make some great memories!

He just knocked off Front Range and only has Torreys, Evans, and Bierstadt left.  I bet he finishes today.  The guy's an animal!

From the national weather service:

"Snow is expected above 12,000 feet and Mt Evans picked up 1 to 2 inches this morning."

Currrently making his way up Longs as we speak....

How does he do it? Woke up on Guanella yesterday, climbed Evans/Bierstadt, rode into Idaho Springs, had lunch/dinner, rode all night to Longs trailhead, started climbing....damn

Someone said it before : 'intimidating performance'. No doubt!

Awesome display of speed, athleticism and dogged determination.

This has been more than fun to watch - suffice to say, I am in awe. Thank you Justin for a great show, enjoy the final peak and thanks for kindling a new found interest in the 14ers. I've spent more time on 14ers.com in the last month than I ever have!

Finish strong!

Does he need to return to the start to finish up? Or is getting to the last peak 'the end'?
