I put a fake rubber snake around the seat post and drape It over the seat.Funny when you come out of a store and someone is poking it with a stick.A little humor on the trail is always good.  |

I'm trying to plan my vacation request for doing the CTR in 2013. From the looks of it, in the past it has usually started around the last weekend in July. Anybody know if that will be the case again this year or when a start date will be released? This is a lot of days off for me to request so the earlier I can confirm it the better!
My apologies if this question has already been answered - I looked around for a while and didn't see anything.
Looking forward to the race and many, many thanks to all who have posted so much useful information on these forums!

Any advice on flying into the, "area" from the States on a reasonable budget? All the flights I'm checking out that go to Glasgow aren't super reasonable. I'm guessing I can fly anywhere into island of Great Britain, and train/ride in from there.
Hey Justin and anyone else!I have a good friend from Scotland that I'm going to see after Turkey Day.I sent him a text about the ride and he said he would help me with all the Flight info and other stuff i may need to know.Sit tight and i will keep you posted,and if you have any questions you want me to ask him let me know. |

I've been looking at logistics of making it to Tyndrum (start). It looks like a nice place to stay the night before the race is only a short distance away from the start line - Tyndrum Inn. Anyone planning on driving up to Tyndrum on Friday from Glasgow and have room for an extra person with a bike box? Train and bus schedule from Glasgow airport looks a little complicated. I would pay for the fuel!

With 5 days until the start of the CTR,most of us are making final preparations to our gear,maps,food,etc.I'm posting this to make racers and followers aware that we will be joined by a really cool event.Eric Sullivan,who some of you may know will be toeing the line on July 30th with us.Except Eric will be running the CTR.Eric is running for a great cause,Down Syndrome-Autism Connection,there website is ds-asd-connection.org.Down Syndrome-Autism Connection are Colorado based.There mission is to provide education and support to individuals facing the unique challenges caused by co-occurring down syndrome and autism.Check out the website and help if you can.I'm donating for good CTR karma and a great cause.
Eric is a pretty fit athlete,who has competed at the highest level in the endurance world.His goal for the CTR is incredible.So if you see Eric out there,and trust me most of us will,give him a big "HELL YA",as we will all need it.Be safe in the final few days,and see you all on the 30th.
