Sounds like we have the beginings of a plan ?

Be nice if we can bump up the fund even a little .... Its always been known endurance riders have big hearts and its not all to do with training !

Or even a " What Would Stamstad Do ? " Logo

I think an " Eat , Sleep , Ride "  Type of T shirt or more likely a cycling top would be a great seller and if a clothing maker would do them at cost and the proceeds go to the fund it would raise a lot of cash Huh?

Any good designers out in the bikepacking world care to take a go at it ?

I had heard that the start may be brought forward to get a full moon ??

I think Stefan was going to start a thread and poll riders for opinion .

Discuss ??

Yes from what i can gather John Fettis ran out of time as he had to be back at work on Tuesday in the UK .... Looks like up till then he was having a good ride given the war zone conditions !! I think the altitude is the biggest battle for riders from far away who get little time to get used to the elevation !

13  Forums / Ultra Racing / Re: CTR 2010 Status and Updates. on: August 06, 2010, 09:08:26 PM
Yes John seems off track on his last spot but perhaps he's just dropped down off the high section to bivvy up ? He has Vista with him so i'm sure he didn't miss a turn... I hope !

Just want to say were right behind John Fettis back here in the UK .... Sounds like its one hard race out there. Keep pushing John there's a cold beer waiting for you !!!

It would be nice to think that we could do something as a community ( even if most of us have never met Dave or eachother for that matter )

Matt L always seems to put feelings into great words and i'm sure if he or Scott M started the ball rolling it would gather some speed...?

As a follower of the race from this side of the Atlantic i would like to send congratulations to all the racers finishers or not.
As a Brit i have been rooting for Aidan and a 19 day finish on a SS for a first timer is brilliant. Well Done !

Clearly the race has been overshadowed by the loss of Dave, but as a guy who hopes to race in the future his blog and advice on this site are a tribute to a man who's can do spirit and clear love of this event will inspire people for a long time to come. Never met you but you can just tell when a guy is " Sound " as we say over here.

Recived my bags just last week from Jeff... He has been busy in the last months with the Alaska ultrasport racers. It had been tough to get hold of him but i kept sending the odd email and he did get in touch and thank me for being patient with my order.

Yes they do make a 700c size. Keep hunting , Otherwise i can source some and send them over... I have a set that have only done 1x Three Peaks ( 40 miles but only 30 that are rideable )

All the best

Take a look at the Schwalbe Landcruiser if you can find them out there.... its a 35mm treking tyre with a good center strip for low rolling on roads/hardpack ... we use them in England for the 3 Peaks Cyclocross race which is a good mix of hardcore trail and some road sections.

They are fairly cheap too and hardwearing, Iv'e had a set on all winter over here with no punctures at all.

Hi all

I'm looking for a Motel recommendation for next years CTR, Any motels near to the trailhead ?

Looking to come a week before the race to try to get used to the altitude a little and then get a motel for a couple of days before the start to rest up and gear up !
