Holt, I had considerable numbness in my toes, mostly my right foot, after the Coco250 last year. It took a few months to finally go away, but I took a strong look at my cleat position and made a small maybe 1/32" adjustment and after the AZT300 I didn't experience any numbness. As others have stated, check your setup. It may be the smallest of adjustments that help the most.
Hope to see you out there again!!

Jeff, I already knew Nancy was tough, but jeez she didn't have to prove it that way!! Her thigh looked like a pin cushion at the finish. Which, by the way was so awesome to see you two come in. It was a cocktail of emotions at the finish, thankful that I made it, stoked, relieved, exhilarated and utterly shattered. I really thought I could get in sub-4 days and was pushing to make it, I actually felt pretty good climbing out of the Gila. I made it to the top with exactly 2 hours to go, but almost instantly into Martinez Canyon I 'hit the wall' so to speak. I could barely lift my feet on the HAB sections and could no longer pedal the smallest of inclines. I clearly did not carry enough calories out of Oracle for the final push. I had some bits of food, but nothing I felt I could stomach at the time. I think I rode from the Ripsey wash descent to the finish (some 16 hours) on one chocolate chip cookie, a couple of gels and a bottle + 1/2 of CarboRocket. It was really great to meet a bunch of like-minded folk out there pushing their personal limits. No matter the current state of race fatigue, everyone was super friendly as we shared trail experiences. The funniest moment of the entire race was when Scott Jones came into the covered restroom area @ Molino Basin, you know the one just after the monster hike-a-bike everyone loved so much, and he pulls out a Staples 'Easy Button' that he'd been carrying for just this occasion!! Thanks Scott, that was priceless!! I even got to pose with it at the finish line!! Luckily, a co-worker of mine was kind enough to let me borrow his shock-proof camera for this adventure. As a few of you know, I like to take pics on my rides - race or not. So, armed with a camera that I could keep up front on my chest instead of my pack (I normally ride with a clunky DSLR) I still managed to snap some 250+ pics. I saw a couple of firsts for me after riding in the desert since 1994, my first (and second) Gila Monster!! And a giant Centipede - that sucka was at least 10" long & 3/4" wide!! Here's a link to my picasa album with all of them: (Katherine Wallace: I believe the two riders taking a nap in Bloodsucker Wash are Sharon & Michael, as we leapfrogged a few times over the route) https://picasaweb.google.com/105985179285538905055/AZT300Redemption2013?authuser=0&feat=directlinkEnjoy! Feel free to use any images for personal use.

Thanks for the update Tim.
Cjell IS Money, is guess the AZT750 is just part of his 'loop'.
Freeman Rd Cache update: Dropped off 25 gallons today & took home 23 empties. All water is general use and a couple of through hikers were mighty glad to see the fresh stock today!! Be careful if you look in the wooden cache, that's the one closest to Freeman Rd, there were some hornets inside on the upper right making a nest!! There's only a few gallons in there anyway. The new metal cache, about 75 yards farther down trail, had about 30 gallons in it as of today.
Also, the through hikers confirmed reports that Beehive Well doesn't taste too good!! They also mentioned that Oracle Ridge had limited snow, mainly constained to the shadows with spotty coverage.
See you all in a few days!! Sure was a nice ride out on the Boulders segment this afternoon.

Thanks for the update Scott! It looks like Chip may have stopped at the hardware store? I'm curious to see what he does next.

So you are riding your bike to the start? From where?
Probably Colorado or something after reading his arrival to the Tour Divide last year!!

Mark, I'm also planning on heading down to Freeman Rd. on the 13th to drop some water. I'm going to loosely organize a group ride on the Boulders segment with a suggested 'h2o donation' by those who tag along.

Hey quick question for anyone. Last year I was able to print off Pocket Maps from the ATA website. They aren't very detailed, probably about 1:180,000 but they working great as an overview of the course to print off and have with the map cues & GPS. I can't find the pocket maps anywhere now! All I have is the ATA Topo CD and these maps are wayyyyy too detailed to print out all of them. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to this or still has the pocket maps to share for the whole 750? I really want a good hard copy of overview maps that actually show the AZT like the pocket maps did rather than an atlas
Hey Tanner, I may have all the pocket maps on my PC, I'll check when I get home tonight. I'm pretty sure I downloaded all of the maps that were posted on the AZT site last year. I can't wait to get to Parker Canyon Lake this year!! -John
