Hi. I'm looking to make a frame bag for a MTB Cycletech Der Papalagi steel touring bike. 56, triangular space in a typical steel frame. How many linear yards would I need? I'm capable at diy projects, generally speaking, but have no experience with a sewing machine...

1 yard should do it. Typically fabric comes in 50" widths or so. When I buy fabric, I buy at least 3 to 5 yards. But then again I do a lot of DIY projects for the bike.

With 1 yard at 54" or 60" roll width you can make a full kit; frame bag, bar roll, pouch or top tube pack, or at least a couple different sized frame bags; full and partials if you use the material efficiently. Of course you'll need to get zips, clips, sticky stuff, whatever else you plan to use to open/close and attach it to your bike. And gros grain ribbon, always gros grain.Good Luck!
