Trails are either muddy or covered in snow... time to hit the beach.

The Kenai peninsula coast has great beach riding, its mostly gravel but sometimes you get smooth sand.
The cool part about beach riding is how dynamic it is. Even doing a out and back like this trip everything can change overnight and can offer a totally different experience with a different tide level.

Anyway, this section I had ridden 2 years ago with a packraft assisted mud slog to get to Point Possession - the north tip of the Kenai Peninsula. The out and back was a really nice way to re-visit the area.

After driving 3+ hours.. the weather was still great!

Getting rolling, 5-7 mph is pretty much the speed limit.

Huge Granite Boulders

Very Alaskan real estate..

not a bad spot though, if you can sleep at night.

On the map, the beach line is straight, however up close there are countless small bays to work your way around.

erosion at work..

It got late before we knew it but wanted to get to the Point, however then could not find any water and ended up stumbling around till about 11 pm and debating weather to keep going to turn around for a known water source.

in the end we just camped and made do with a marginal ground water trickle coming out of the silt bluff.

In the morning I poked around the corner to scope Chickaloon Bay. Great riding... pretty nice day at the beach!

Heading back...

Great weekend.
