I've been having fits trying to keep a large jug of water attached to the downtube. I've got an Anything Cage HD, and even with the straps that come with it are ineffective at keeping it from falling off. What have others done to secure a bottle there? It is a great spot to carry additional water, but it's driving me nuts. Thanks.

Also the Revelate Washboard straps are stretchy, so you can secure things a lot better. The included straps are pretty much only good for soft goods.

I found some 12" ones on crazy discount but for good reason. It takes 2 to wrap the down tube and a big kleen Kanteen. I'd recommend 24" minimum.

Ladderlock buckles sometimes loosen up when tightened around a solid curved object. The curve changes the friction angle on the buckle.
Voile straps or webbing straps with metal cam buckles will help (like the straps rafting guys use).

I've carried 1.5L of water down the roughest trails I can ride for days' at a time and this ^^^ setup never budged. Carrying weight that low is really nice.

Goes on and off the bike in a few minutes. No damage to paint and works fine with a frame bag.
