I'm laid up on the couch recovering from knee surgery, so there's finally time to put up some photos from a trip my wife and I did back in June. I'd been to England many times, but never to Scotland and had always wanted to experience it. Obviously, biking seemed to be the best way to do it. Despite being taken during one of the wettest summers locals could remember, we had an incredible time and can't recommend it highly enough. We didn't do any camping (stayed in hostels so not really bikepacking), but I figured some folks might enjoy the pictures. Inverie to Montrose, here goes:

This looks amazing! I'd love to do this with my wife someday. What route did you take? Are there trail maps or a gps track you used?

You're right, ridiculously green. I'd love to go back in August when the heather would be blooming purple everywhere.
Map here: http://goo.gl/maps/dr9Ci
I've got more detailed gps tracks too.
Can't recommend it enough!

First time I'd ever heard the phrase 'Sugar mommy' was a couple of years ago, at a conference of bike mechanics in LA. I'm sure you could make something up, is there a job description of 'pro bikebacker'?  thumbsup

Ever since spending a week in Scotland at world championships a few years back I've wanted to explore so much more.  This looks awesome!  Thanks for the photos.

Nice pics. I see Glen Feshie was wet and soggy for you, often the case I am afraid.
Recognise the hostel pic, strangely I am currently sat in there as I write this.

I was out in Glen Callater yesterday and it was pretty cold, well below freezing!

Glen Feshie was definitely character building for us. Don't think I've ever seen so much water. Gorgeous though. The Braemar Hostel is nice, wish I was there now instead of work!

Yeh, that middle section is pretty grim eh? They use Argo cats on it for stalking and they make a huge quagmire wherever they go if it's wet!!
I am looking out of the window here and a little snow is lying on the floor, I was in Glen Callater last night in a bothy and it was pretty cold. Thank heaven for down icon_biggrin
