With NAHBS coming up I thought it'd be cool to see pics of people's handmade bikes all kitted out, share a little description etc..

Here's my Waltworks I got in July of 2012. I did one local ride on it and then flew straight to Denver to tour the Colorado trail over 10 days. The CT is a great way to break in a brand new bike! I've had it set up 3x10, 1x10, Rohloff'd, single speed, dingle speed, tringle speed, gotta love the versatility of the paragon dropouts. The bike rides exactly how I like. The goals were a lightish, trail shredable bike that could double duty as a bike tour/bikepacker for all types of terrain but focused on the aggressive single track I ride at home regularly. Walt knocked it out.
I've toured and bikepacked it all over the place on all types of terrain was fortunate to race the AZT and CTR last year and hope to continue beating on it for many years to come. it's perfect. It gets me stoked to ride just looking at it.

Let's see those customs all kitted out! I know there are some beauty's out there...

A few pics..

1) Chilcotins 2014 (Dingle, Cuben bags, pic taken 30 minutes after a mama Griz and 3 cubs encounter at less than 50 yds)
2) New Zealand North Island Tour, Auckland to Wellington 2014 (following mostly the yet to be ridden Tour Aotearoa route)
3) Tuscany Trail Tour 2015 (Toured the Race route in reverse the same weekend, ran into all sorts of awesome bike packer folk)
4) Arizona Trail Tour 2015 (Tringle, Toured most of the 300 route and around the area in Winter, it was cold)
5) AZT300 Finish 2015

Sweet bike, but even sweeter are there places you took it.

Do you make your own bags? That three bottle setup is choice!

I finished the 2013 TD.  I did the whole damn thing,
excluding the 2013 detours, in good style and—as
far as I know—totally in accordance with the rules.

Thanks Matt. I'm very fortunate. I've set my life up to make riding and travelling a priority the last handful of years while still holding down a full time job that I enjoy. I've found a pretty good balance, It's fun!

I make all my own bags and some of my kit as well. A few insulated pieces, quilts, tarps, bivy's, stuff sacks, etc..
The three bottle set up really worked well for the AZT300 as it let me 'see' how much fluid I was carrying re up to re up. That was my biggest concern being from the rainforest and riding in the desert for the first time... running dry.  Inspired by one of the masters....

Thanks for the reply, Addy. I think this may be the year I really learn to sew. I have a lot of ideas and just need to get a machine and make the time.

Exactly how it started for me.. I had so many ideas and wanted to sew for a long time. I finally grabbed my mom's old machine and went for it. First day took me 5 hours to learn to thread the machine properly to even start a stitch. Now it takes me 5 seconds hahah.
Just get a machine and go for it you won't regret it!
