My New Surly ECR build. My goal is to fine-tune this for my tour of the GDMBR starting on my 60th birthday in June 2018.

Medium Frame
Jones Loop Butted Alloy H-bars.
1x11 Sram X1 32T chainring x 11/45T cassette. This is temporary. I'm saving up for a Rohloff/Schmidt SON wheel combo.
Brooks B17 saddle. Also temporary. I'm having trouble finding a comfy saddle that is water resistant. I truly dislike the idea of babying this leather saddle for 2774 miles.

DT350 hubs, laced to Easton ARC40 rims, expertly crafted by MikeC at LaceMine29.

The Bonty goatsuckers are great! Saint pedals.
Not on the bike currently, but my packs are a combo of Revelate and Oveja Negra.

You don't need to baby your brooks.   Keep it coated with some sort of waterproof coating.   Cover it overnight if it rains. They are worth the effort

I'll have to admit that its getting better every day. One thing that does irritate me a little, and I will correct it soon, is that the aft six rivets stand quite proud of the leather. Typically they are sunken into the leather or just about flush. These can definitely be felt, and over time they cause a small amount of irritation - not much - but any discomfort I can nail down and stamp out before my Divide run, the better.

The Mukluk in summer mode. A 29er wheelset makes it a surprisingly good facsimile of a mountain bike, if you don't mind the comically large Q factor. This hurt my knees after a few hours, so I switched the SPDs for flat pedals and it has all been good since.

Nice bike. Is that a 28T you're running for a front ring?

I just counted 30 in the front, 36 in the back. That isn't exactly what I'd recommend if you are going to ride anything technical and hilly. I spent at least 75% of my last trip in the lowest gear.

Right now I'm running a 32T front and a 45T rear. That gets me about 20.1 gear inches, but I got a 28T ordered and that'll do me about 18.5 GI.

Did you have to get longer bolts for the 30t chainring?

My fast rig CHUMBA USA Stella Titanium
My rig is a Stella Titanium from CHUMBA USA. I can run it as 29er or 27plus so I switch it up depending on the route! Bags are all from Wanderlust Gear. 27plus shots are from this summer on a section of the CT. Rigid 29er shot is from Bannf to Whitefish!

Still a work in progress, but I'm getting closer.  As soon as I get a lightweight and compact sleeping bag and a pad of some form I can do my first overnighter!  icon_biggrin

Bike is a 2016 Rocky Mountain Blizzard -10
Handlebars are 20 bucks worth of steel pipe from home depot (I hate welding, but the knowhow definitely has it's perks when one wants to try something!).
The bottle cage rack on the fork is also self built and it mounts directly to the fender mounts.  (Surly guys have it easy, lol)
The bottle cages are welded aluminum Filzer cages (I modified one to fit a full sized bottle on the seat tube)
GPS is an etrex 30x (an upgrade from my old 20)
Light is a Fenix PD35 hoseclamped to the handlebar (I have a pd35 tac on my helmet)
Porcelain Rocket Vera seat pack
Porcelain Rocket MCA Handlebar System

(There's no frame bag because sometimes I'll carry my bike on my shoulder to get it up, over or around obstacles.)

Saddle is a Brooks B17 (My butt conformed to it after about a month of riding in the winter).

Not pictured, but I recently picked up an OR Alpine Bivy and I also have a 10L dry bag for under the handlebars.

I'll try to get better pictures, but yeah.  Smiley

Thanks! icon_biggrin

I was wandering through a certain Canadian store that sells Tires and found a sleeping bag that'll compress down do 5.5" x 12.5".  While I was at it, I hit up MEC (I should just live there, lol) for a sleeping pad and compression sack and was able to fit the Bivy, Bag and pad into it.  I still need to do a test setup of the camp side of things yet, but I took it out for a test ride and the harness performed admirably.

Sorry the pictures have a yellow tinge to them; with all the smoke coming up from that fire down in the states the sky was an amber yellow.

Yes, picked it up in Bannf it was hilarious made to look like two little wolves on each end of the slingshot. Thought it would be a fun poke at the burgeoning bikepacking dangle style. It broke before I even got to try it...

Seems like you may need the ultimate in boutique bikepacking dangle accessories as a replacement...

My AZT300 set up from April.
*SS 32/23, 140mm fork, dropper post.
*Cuben fiber dual compartment frame bag, 2 mini feedbags, and a dropper post bag all MYOG.
*Tried a Syncro 10 which was ok but had some short comings.
As always a super fun event with great people and great trails.
Already looking forward to next year!

Still working on the set up for the GT.  Test ride with new brake rotors and they did great.  Backpack was too heavy, but I'm not a fan of frame bags.
