If you don't mind, you call yourself old guy at 58 (I'm 46), I see people climbing stone mountain over 70 years old, 'old guy' doesn't fly, but if you like it, fine Sir. Also, you call yourself retired, but all I can see is that you are 'very' active, that's badass!! So, instead of old guy and retired, how about experienced outdoor enthusiast, and actively pursuing my backyard -> Colorado!! LOL. (Just because your ride short segments and seek out gravity and ride full suspension doesn't detract in anyway). Your outdoor skills 'shine-thru' in your posts, period. icon_salut

*(afterthought - boy would more pics be nice, but uploading to this forum kinda' fails, so 'peeps' must have the patience to deal with an image-hosting site, might I suggest, http://imgur.com/). sign13

Thank you for the kind words. When I say retired I just mean from working for anybody.

I decided many years ago that retiring at 65 was not for me. Too many of my 65 year old friends died at 68 right after retiring.
No way was I going to give some company my last best 10 years of my life.
There is so much more one can do at 55 than they can do at 65.
If you can swing it retire as soon as you can. Get out there and enjoy life because you can never get that time back.

On being old and decrepit.
I tried to connect with some fellow mtn bikers from the mtbr.com colorado front range forum and was quickly dropped
on a trail I had never been on do to being so slow. So I now mostly ride bikepack solo where I have a bit more control of the situation
and I don't feel like I am in a race.

dropped= left behind to figure it out on your own

I'm just using a free Flickr account for the bike picts in my posts are they loading OK?

Look at this dude man -->  icon_puke_l  Is it too much tequila or poorly purified stream water?

HaHa It looks like a guy biking up a long hill after eating at McDonalds.
