A friend and I are going on our first trip this week-end. Just one night and two day ride. We are excited to check out our new bags and equipment. Round trip about 40 miles up Buckhorn Canyon, camping around Jacks Gulch and down Old Flowers Road. Northern Colorado.

That's a great area - I've ridden it a couple times.  Buckhorn Canyon is a long, grinder of a climb.  It probably seems longer to me than it is, since I always ride Rist Canyon on the way out to it.

We had a great time. Buck Horn was a long grinder with bikepacking bags. Great camping at Jacks Gulch. My pillow sucked though. We took just enough food for trip. We filtered water along the way, plenty of water in creeks right now. Old Flowers was a great ride. Alot of creeks and down trees.
