Well I've been sick with the flu for the last 5 days... no biking no mini trip reports from me darn-it.
What really sucks is the temperature on the front range has been perfect for riding and camping.
Day time temps mid 60's(15.6c) evening mid 40's(4.5c)

I hope someone has been getting out and enjoying the fall riding. If you took a few picts on your ride
please post them. It doesn't have to be an epic adventure to make it post worthy. I really enjoy seeing
different parts of the country or world for that matter as the seasons change.

Thought I'd bring a bit of aussie perspective... similar(ish) to parts of NA but less water and fewer people...

Latest blog a bit about bikepacking mostly around Sydney NSW - latest trip (400km in 3 days) writeup is at http://www.wannaberacer.info/2012/10/of-course-one-mans-fun.html - enjoy.

Hi Pizzaz,
Thanks for the link to your blog. Great Trip Report.
That bridge made out of chain link fence looked pretty scary.

Bikepacked my heaviest load yesterday. I think I found my weight limit.
It was a fun test, sans winter weather.
I could see where things would get a whole lot trickier once you add cold, wind, and snow.

Total weight 35# which included 1 gal of water and food for 2 days 1 night.

Trail was a mix of single track and gravel road.

Lots of gear needed to survive a Colorado winter...

I designed this winter hot tarp myself. Had small mom/pop vendors make it for me.
The backpacking woodstove is made by Kifaru here in Colorado.

Sure am glad I packed 1 gal of water after finding the water source locked.

Two beautiful days of riding.

I think for winter camping in Colorado I'll be stick with this.
I'm not sure a loaded bike gives you any advantage.

When out to do a bit of training this weekend with my friend Josh. Pushed the bike for three hours but found a nice camp spot. It's just a bit outside Whitehorse, Yukon... not a bad view.

Wow! Mario that is one awesome picture.
I can just about feel the crisp clean air freezing my nose hairs. (Something only a true winter camper can appreciate)
Thanks for sharing your picture and joining in the thread.

Hi stuffx, Great blog. Google had no trouble translating. What an awesome trip, highway to ice spikes Wow!.
I really liked the I'm happy picts and I really like the way your riding partner stowed her sleeping pad on the bike frame.
Splash guard by day and sleeping pad by night.
Thanks for sharing your adventure.

So, Colorado Cool Breeze, you've decided to try my error - load everything into backpack Smiley Totally agree with You, that backpack should be no larger then 30L. And the rest comes on the bike. Climbing is really difficult with load on the back.
But I'm glad to see You riding and enjoying those views. Indeed, LIFE IS GOOD! Oh, did I mention that your pictures are simply breathtaking?
Does anybody live in that "house"?

I went on a bikepacking trip around Victoria, BC with what was probably a 20lb backpack, and I thought on the way back I was going to die. It was way too much to carry on my back. Granted the bike was a POS I borrowed from a co-worker, but still, I pretty much carry only the light stuff and water on my back, preferring to load up the bike instead.

Hi anatolyG, Welcome to the forum. Did you take any picts? I'll bet Victoria was beautiful.

I have not been able to get out for an overnite in a while.
Been testing winter gear in the backyard and riding to lunch to keep the legs strong, didn't think anyone would be interested in that.
Holidays are pretty hectic around here. I hope to get out after NewYears.
