ok - as i was saying - been gone for awhile due to rethinking the condition my condition was in (anyone) and i have come to an ugly yet all be it fun conclusion
1) living in north texas the capacity of bike packing is greatly diminished however, the opportunity to reclaim some early model ATB's and convert them into touring/camping bikes is endless.
soon i will be updating my Univega rebuild. It was a craigslist purchase and LBS supported labor of love - my LBS is amazing BB Bicycles in Cedar Hill Texas are true stewards and proponents within the bike community. Many of the staff (including owner) have forsaken their cars (difficult in our region) to commit to true cycle commuting.
