The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route was put together by Adventure Cycling in the late nineties. It has since become the definitive route for dirt road bikepacking.

TopoFusion’s Divide GPS Page holds the most used GPS track for the route. This track was used to generate the elevation profiles on the official ACA maps, and also to correct ACA’s GDMBR waypoint set.

Hi Guys,
Do they have shuttle services to nearby airports from Antelope Wells, NM? My research has told me the nearest airport from the finish is 134 miles away? Any insight would be great.
Hey Eric,
I would suggest you make a contact in Tucson. It’s a 3.5 hour drive away but more flight options at the airport and I would assume after riding the divide, you wouldn’t mind some time in Tucson for a massage and some beers.
I am riding from South to North, starting in late May. Can’t wait. Guess i will see all the Southbound racers somewhere along the route, probably Wyoming.

I just read you were going to ride the GDMBR northbound. How did it go? My wife and I are planning on starting in Antelope Wells in late May, 2019 and heading to Banff. Would you recommend riding northbound?
I’m flying into Calgary in July and shipping my bike ups. Can anyone recommend a bike shop in Calgary that I should ship too for reassemble. Preferably one close to airport.
Another question for those who have done the route. Will a 20 degree down bag be sufficient in July for the GDT north to south.

I had a 32* down bag for last year’s Tour Divide, that was plenty warm coupled with my one man tent and clothes. I’m from the desert southwest, so I’m a bit sensitive to the cold these days. Haha. Also, why ship your bike? I’ve heard from enough other riders that it could get caught up in customs much longer than anticipated. Most airlines have greatly reduced their fees for bikes. Personally, I’d travel with it.
